Dental CHAS Subsidies

CHAS (Community Health Assist Scheme) provides dental subsidies to eligible Singaporeans who fall under the Orange, Blue, Merdeka Generation and Pioneer Generation scheme.

These subsidies help reduce the financial burden of basic dental care. With the provision of tiered subsidies based on income and generation groups, CHAS ensures that dental care is made more accessible to a wider community.

How Does CHAS Work at Dental Clinics?

CHAS subsidises a fixed amount for each eligible dental treatment. The total amount subsidised will be based on your CHAS card tier. For example, it is not possible to claim for Blue CHAS subsidies on an Orange CHAS card.

It is not possible to share CHAS cards with your friends or relatives. Unlike Medisave, it is also not possible to share your CHAS card with a close relative e.g. mother or father that is not registered as an occupant in the same household.

In addition, if you are a foreigner, you will not be eligible for CHAS subsidies. However, you can still enjoy the toofus™ affordable dental rates without CHAS subsidies. Our dental treatment rates are popular amongst both domestic and foreign workers looking for affordable dental treatment, particularly for tooth extractions, and dentures.

Subsidised amounts for CHAS will differ from tier to tier. Pioneer Generation CHAS has the most subsidy for dental treatments. The Pioneer Generation CHAS is dependent on the year that you were born and not your age.

When you visit a dental clinic for a CHAS-eligible treatment, you will pay the clinic the treatment fees minus the subsidy. There are no claim forms that you need to fill out and no need to wait for reimbursements. This is because the dental clinic will deduct the subsidy from the total bill that you are paying for.

There are per-year limits on the number of subsidised claims you can make. Take for example extractions. You can only claim up to 4 subsidised extractions per calendar year regardless of the type of extractions you are doing. In the case of dentures, you can only claim for one denture per arch every 3 years.

What CHAS Covers at toofus™ Dental

CHAS covers routine, preventative and restorative treatments. It does not subsidise treatments like teeth whitening, dental veneers, orthodontic treatment or dental implants.

If you are looking for further subsidies for implant surgery or wisdom tooth surgery, Medisave applies instead.

For certain treatments like root canal treatment, it is possible to use a combination of CHAS and Flexi-Medisave (up to $400 a year) to pay for treatment. However, please take note that this applies only to patients aged 60 and above.

Do I get any dental subsidies if I am on a Green CHAS card?

Unfortunately, there are no dental subsidies available for Green CHAS card holders (as of August 2026).
