Can I Use Flexi-Medisave For My Root Canal Treatment and Dental Crown?

Yes, if you are 60 and above and have a CPF Medisave account, it is possible to use Flexi-Medisave for your root canal treatment and dental crown. However, there is a limit of how much Flexi-Medisave you can use annually.

The maximum claims you can make per year from your Flexi-Medisave account is $400. It is not possible to claim beyond that.

If you are intending to proceed with root canal treatment followed by a dental crown, you might be able to combine other financing options and subsidies such as:

  • CHAS to subsidise a portion of your treatments (if relevant to you)
  • CDC vouchers to offset a portion of your treatments (if relevant to you)
  • Dental insurance to co-pay or offset partial/full cost of treatments (if relevant to you).

Flexi-Medisave can help reduce the cost of root canal treatment and a dental crown

If you are aged 60 or above, Flexi-Medisave may be used to offset the cost of an eligible root canal treatment and a crown placed on the treated natural tooth, subject to the prevailing annual withdrawal limit and your available Medisave balance.

Depending on your eligibility, Flexi-Medisave may also be combined with CHAS subsidies, CDC vouchers, dental insurance or the Flexi-Medisave entitlement of your child. However, the amount payable will depend on your treatment needs, remaining benefits and the subsidies available to you.

Before beginning treatment, inform our patient success coordinators that you intend to use Flexi-Medisave. Our team can check your eligibility, estimate the applicable deductions and subsidies, and explain any remaining out-of-pocket cost before you decide whether to proceed.
